FAQ

Straight answers, before you sign up

The questions we'd want answered too. If yours isn't here, ask us directly.

Is NHS CareerMate affiliated with the NHS?

No. We are an independent preparation platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NHS, NHS England, any trust, or any government body. Our guidance is built on publicly available NHS person specifications and values frameworks — the same criteria hiring panels use.

About us

Is it really free? What's the catch?

Yes — every feature is free: the vacancy analyser, statement builder, AI coaching, interview simulator and CoS information. No card, no trial, no paywall. If we ever add optional paid extras, everything free today stays free.

Is this a scam? Do you sell jobs or visas?

We never sell jobs, visas, or sponsorship, and we never guarantee an interview or an offer — nobody honestly can. A lot of what targets international candidates is a scam; this platform is deliberately the opposite: preparation tools only.

Where is my data stored?

Your account and application data are stored with Supabase in the EU/UK region. The site is served by Vercel. When you use an AI feature, the text you submit is processed by Anthropic (Claude) in the US to generate the result.

Privacy Policy

Is my CV or statement used to train AI?

No. Text you submit is processed only to generate your result (an explanation, a polished statement, interview feedback) and is not used to train AI models, per Anthropic's API terms. We never sell your data.

Privacy Policy

Do you give immigration advice?

No. The CoS Hub explains how the Certificate of Sponsorship process works in plain English, but it is general information, not immigration or legal advice. For legal matters, consult a qualified immigration adviser or solicitor.

Will this work for UK-based candidates too?

Yes. The platform is built with internationally-trained candidates in mind, but the tools — criteria extraction, statement building, interview practice — work exactly the same for anyone applying to the NHS.

What if my application is rejected?

It happens to strong candidates too. Use the shortlister review on your statement to find the gaps, practise the weak criteria in the interview simulator, and reuse your profile to apply again faster. Rejections carry no penalty anywhere in the process.

Can I delete my account and everything in it?

Yes, in one step: Settings → Delete account. It permanently removes your account and all data — applications, statements, profile and stories. This is immediate and cannot be undone.

How do I get help?

Message us from Help & support inside the app (or the contact page). Replies land in your in-app Inbox and we aim to respond within one working day.
