Terms and Conditions

Last updated: June 2026. These terms apply to all users of the NHS CareerMate platform.

1. About this platform

NHS CareerMate ("the Platform") is operated as an independent preparation service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Health Service, NHS England, or any government body. Use of the Platform does not create any employment, agency, or sponsorship relationship between the user and any NHS organisation.

2. No legal or immigration advice

Nothing on the Platform constitutes legal advice, immigration advice, or visa guidance. Information about the Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) is provided for general educational purposes only. For advice specific to your circumstances, you must consult a qualified immigration solicitor or adviser regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC).

3. No guarantee of outcomes

The Platform provides preparation tools and information. It does not guarantee job offers, interviews, visa approvals, or any other outcome. NHS hiring decisions are made solely by the relevant NHS trust or organisation and are outside the Platform's control.

4. Accuracy of information

We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and up to date, including guidance on NHS person specifications and the CoS process. However, NHS policies and immigration rules change regularly. You are responsible for verifying that any information you act on is current. We accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of outdated or incomplete information.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You must not attempt to misuse or interfere with the Platform, access another user's account, or use the Platform to generate content that is misleading, unlawful, or harmful. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any breach of these terms.

6. Intellectual property

All content on the Platform — including text, guidance materials, and software — is owned by or licensed to NHS CareerMate. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial preparation. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or sell any part of it without written permission.

7. AI-generated content

Some features of the Platform, including the interview simulator and statement builder, use artificial intelligence to generate responses and feedback. AI-generated content is provided as a starting point for practice and review. It is not a substitute for professional advice and may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for critically evaluating any AI-generated output before acting on it.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NHS CareerMate is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform — including loss of employment opportunity, financial loss, or reliance on information provided. The Platform is provided free of charge, and our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of it is limited to £100 (one hundred pounds).

9. Third-party links

The Platform may link to external websites, including official NHS and UK government pages. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or availability. Links do not imply endorsement.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify users via the Platform. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Your privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect, how it is used (including processing by our AI provider), how long it is kept, and your rights over it. Please review it before using the Platform.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from use of the Platform are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
